About this role

Role Title: Business Analyst / Researcher / Operations Specialist

micro1 is engaging experienced Business Analysts, Researchers, and Operations Specialists to contribute to a writing-intensive customer project focused on analytical thinking and clear written communication. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. Participants will leverage their professional judgment to address structured assignments such as explaining business decisions and trade-offs, evaluating evidence, synthesizing complex information, and producing well-organized written deliverables. This engagement is ideal for contributors with a background in business case development, research reporting, requirements gathering, process documentation, or related analytical work.

Scope of Work

  1. Analyze complex business scenarios and articulate decision rationales, including trade-offs and outcomes, in clear, accessible language.
  2. Conduct both quantitative and qualitative research to inform process improvements and operational strategies.
  3. Gather, interpret, and synthesize requirements and stakeholder perspectives into actionable findings and recommendations.
  4. Evaluate and communicate multi-source data sets, leveraging tools such as Excel or SQL where relevant.
  5. Draft comprehensive reports, memos, or documentation that distill complex findings for varied audiences.
  6. Collaborate with project stakeholders via written communication to clarify objectives and refine deliverables.
  7. Contribute thoughtful, analytical written content that demonstrates sound professional reasoning and real-world expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. 3+ years of professional experience in business analysis, market or policy research, operations management, or related fields.
  2. Proven record of producing written deliverables such as business cases, research reports, requirements documents, or process documentation.
  3. Advanced proficiency in analytical tools (Excel, SQL, or similar) and strong data interpretation skills.
  4. Demonstrated ability to synthesize, structure, and communicate complex information with clarity and precision.
  5. Excellent written English, including professional and analytical writing for diverse audiences.
  6. Background with leading universities, highly regarded organizations, or significant project accomplishments.
  7. Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and stakeholder communication best practices.
